Holston Electric Cooperative is responsible for maintaining the right-of-ways for our power lines. We have divided the 525 square-mile service area into five sections and our plan is to cover one entire section every year. However, when trees grow into the power lines and are interrupting service or are in danger of falling into a power line and after damaging storms we occasionally have to divert from our plan and go into an area on an emergency basis. The individual homeowner is responsible for any trees in the yard that might be growing up into the service drop that connects the residence to Holston EC's power line. If you have additional questions about our tree trimming policy please call (423) 272-8821 to speak with the Right-Of-Way Maintenance Coordinator.
